Lamentations 3:22-23

"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Written in the midst of national and personal devastation, these lines declare that God's mercies are not exhausted by human sorrow. They arrive fresh each morning. For someone whose depression makes every day feel the same and hopeless, this truth interrupts the cycle: today's compassion is new, and God's faithfulness remains great even when feelings say otherwise.
