Revelation 21:4

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

The final future is one in which God Himself removes every tear. Mourning, crying, and pain belong to the old order that will pass. For the person whose present is dominated by sadness, this ultimate horizon supplies enduring hope: the current experience is real but not eternal. God will personally end it.
