Sadness Grief and Discouragement
Scripture and encouragement for sadness, grief, and discouragement.
Selected Sub-Tab
Romans 15:13
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
God is identified as the God of hope. The filling with joy and peace happens as you trust, and the result is overflow by the Spirit's power. Depression often empties a person of hope. This benediction prays the opposite: a Spirit-empowered surplus of hope that begins with trust in the God who is its source.
