"The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down."

Wisdom includes setting aside resources rather than consuming everything immediately. This is a clear biblical endorsement of saving. In seasons of plenty the wise prepare; in seasons of scarcity they are better positioned because they previously exercised restraint and foresight under God's guidance.
