"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

The command is to prioritize God's rule and character; material needs are then promised as secondary provision. In anxious or lean seasons this verse anchors the believer: the path to all these things (food, clothing, necessities) runs through seeking God first, not through frantic self-provision.
