Depression

Selected Sub-Tab

Psalm 42:11

"Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God."

The psalmist honestly confronts his own despair and then redirects his soul toward hope. Depression frequently involves a downcast inner dialogue. This verse models speaking truth to the soul and anchoring hope in God even before feelings change.
